Sheltered by the SEAL: The Inheritance by Amy Gamet is book number two in the “HERO Force” series. This is Jessa McConnell and Jax Andersson’s story.
Jax was the commander of the Hero Force when Jessa’s husband was killer on one of their missions. Jessa blames Jax for her husband and child’s death. She is angry and wants revenge. Jax understands Jessa’s anger at him. He feels guilty and responsible for Jessa’s husband’s death. But, that is not all Jax feels guilty about. Jax has been attracted to Jessa but she belonged to his friend/teammate so she was off limits. Now, that his friend is gone can he control his feelings for Jessa?
Jessa changed her identity in order to hide from Jax but he still finds her. This is a good thing because someone is out to kill Jessa. Will Jax be able to protect her?
This is a wonderful story of two people that are hurting from a loss in their lives that find unexpected comfort and passion from each other. The story also includes suspense and a mystery.
Amy Gamet has another winner. I enjoy escaping into her stories.
