I have received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. “The Hometown Hoax” by Heather Thurmeier is Tessa Cutter and Logan Ridley’s story.
Tessa has moved away from her little hometown to Manhattan to see if she can get her art work noticed. Logan, personal trainer, has moved from Manhattan to Tessa’s little hometown since he could not compete with the personal trainer store chains. Logan is working temporarily as a physical education teacher but hopes to start his own business as a personal trainer in this little town.
Tessa’s family are always trying to get her to move back home. Her family goes beyond most families boundaries to get what they want. Tessa’s family has a camping trip scheduled. Logan has been invited to this camping trip too. When Tessa and Logan meet sparks fly but not necessarily good sparks. As they spend more time together on this camping trip the good sparks start to fly. Will Tessa and Logan give in to this attraction? Their romance is an interesting ride.
I could relate to Logan but had a hard relating to Tessa. I think some of the ways the story played out was just odd. Overall, the story was good with humor, extreme chemistry, and romance. FYI, contains mature content.
