I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. “Playing with Fire” by Alison Bliss is the second book in the “Tangled in Texas” series. This can also be read as a standalone. This is Cowboy and Anna’s story.
Anna is a prim and proper librarian in this small Texas town. She is there to visit with her friend before she has to disappear. Cowboy is a hunky fireman and has a reputation of being a playboy. Anna is not the type of woman that Cowboy is usually attracted to but there is definitely chemistry and a strong attraction between them. Anna is determined that she will not give into this attraction, but Cowboy is very determined to change Anna’s mind. Will Anna be able to resist the temptation?
I have mixed opinions on this book. Cowboy and Anna were back and forth in their relationship that it you just wanted them to make a decision. I liked Cowboy more than I did Anna’s character. There were too many different sub plots going on which took away from the flow of the story. I did enjoy parts of the story and would definitely read another book by this author. This book had romance, humor, mystery, suspense, and intense chemistry. FYI, contains mature content.
