True Deceptions
True Deceptions by Veronica Forand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Entangled Publishing/Entangled Selected Suspense for an honest review. “True Deceptions” by Veronica Forand is the continuation of “Untrue Colors” a mystery, thriller, and romance. This is Simon Dunn and Cassie Watson’s story.

Simon works for the British Intelligence and his partner has just been murdered. Cassie is a robotics expert and has been selected to be Simon’s new partner. As Simon’s new partner her cover is to be his girlfriend. Cassis is in no way ready to be a field agent. Simon nor Cassie are not happy about this arrangement or assignment.

I liked Simon immediately even though he is very controlling. Cassie’s character was hard to figure out. She is a highly trained robotics expert but for someone so smart she made some poor/stupid decisions that caused some extreme consequences.

Simon and Cassie are extremely attracted to each other even though they don’t really like each other. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Simon and Cassie change from just attraction to where they wanted something lasting. Simon is afraid to commit to a lasting relationship with Cassie since he has no way out of his violent dangerous job.

If you love stories with suspense, murder, violence, betrayal, seduction, and romance, this is for you. This story is action packed. FYI, contains mature content.

The way the book ended it looks as if this story will continue with maybe the focus on Dane.
