I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing/Entangled Brazen for an honest review. “Tempting the New Boss” by Angela Claire is the third book in the “Sleeping with the Enemy” series. **FYI, contains mature content. ** I have mixed emotions about this book.
The author brought the readers a hero, Mason Talbot, that is not your typical hero. Mason exhibits symptoms of someone with Asperger’s syndrome. He has always felt different from everyone. When he speaks, he doesn’t apply any filters. Camilla Anderson is a lawyer that has just lost her job when a job opens up working for Mason. Camilla hates being a lawyer, but needs to work so she can pay off her student loans. Camilla’s first day on the job they end up flying to Europe in a private jet. The trip to Europe is a wild ride in many ways. I think it’s great to have the hero who isn’t typical. The story to me just didn’t seem to flow. I understand that Mason’s behavior is different but it seemed like all the characters acted disjointed. There were some good parts of the story where the reader got glimpses of the characters’ true heart. I think it’s good to use a story to make readers aware of specific topics such as Asperger’s syndrome. The intimate scenes were steamy but happened in some strange locations, and at odd times which took away from the romance between Mason and Camilla.
