I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing/Entangled Bliss for an honest review. “Her Unexpected Detour” by Kyra Jacobs is a Checkerberry Inn novel. Kayla gets suspended at work for something she didn’t do. She gets in her car to go get coffee and ends up driving to see her brother several hours away. Kayla gets caught in an ice storm and wrecks her car. Brent ends up rescuing her and taking her to his grandmother’s inn. There is definitely chemistry between Kayla and Brent. They both have lost loved ones and have guarded their hearts from loving someone. Will they be able let their guard down and fall in love? I really enjoyed the other characters in the book too. Ruby, Brent’s grandmother, was one of my favorites. I hope there is a book in this series where Miles, Brent’s cousin, falls in love. This was a cute sweet romance. A great quick read for when you need a little escape.
